Sr. Transportation Engineer

Job Description
Applies sound and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of his field. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is a requirement for certain positions. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.
Typical duties and responsibilities include one or more of the following:
(1) Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of a small staff of engineers and technicians; (2) As individual researcher or staff specialists, carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinates the plans and schedules of detailed phases of the engineering work and performs the design of major projects. Monitors time schedules and job costs and adjusts to comply with each.
2. Performs the design calculations of projects and checks design work of staff and design engineers assigned to project under his control
3. Under direction of program/project managers supervises assistants, designers, technicians, and CADD operators/drafters assigned to project team.
4. Prepares preliminary engineering reports, including feasibility reports, and assists the program/project manager in making presentation to clients.
5. Participates in marketing and proposal stage of new projects.
6. Participated in professional research to keep abreast of ahead of technical field. Writes professional papers/articles for presentation at seminars or in professional publications.
7. Maintains written records of decisions, conferences, telephone conferences, manufacturer s input, so that the completed project has a verifiable set of professional judgments and decisions.
8. Maintains project documentation neatly for the permanent record.
9. Organizes the project files for the permanent record and verifies that all decisions have file backup.
10. May be designated as a Technical Leader within area of expertise.
11. May be project manager on routine projects within area of expertise
Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree in appropriate engineering discipline.
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Six years experience in all phases of specialty field of consulting engineering or related work
Proven technical leadership ability and communication skills to deal effectively with other people at all levels.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
