Job summary
As Engineering Manager at Solutionreach you will lead a group of talented engineers to build the next generation of technology for Solutionreach's patient relationship management service. You must be a broad leader who will own and drive engineering excellence across development and operations of the SaaS system. You will also be responsible for team and individual development as well as mentoring the next level of engineering leadership within Solutionreach. Reporting to the VP of Engineering you will have a high level of autonomy but be held accountable for delivering results for the business.
Duties and responsibilities
- Refines the what provided by Product Management
- Ensures the team understands the why
- Defines how the team will deliver the solution
- Responsible for rate of team production
- Responsible for initial high level sizing of projects
- Negotiates with the architect on technical approaches
- Provides technical leadership to the team, working in concert with the architect
- Removes organizational bottlenecks and blockers for their team and project
- Enforces engineering best practices
- Ensures motivation of their engineering team
- Assists career development of team members
- Responsible for conducting forward looking technology POCs
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in delivering high quality technology products/services in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team
- Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
- Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
- Experience with public cloud infrastructure
- Experience building and managing micro-services based systems
- Experience implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and tools
- 2
years of engineering management experience, preferably in SaaS
- 5
years of experience building and leading technical teams with an emphasis on scaling them to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business
- Bachelors degree in technical discipline or compensating work experience
- Masters degree in technical discipline a plus
