Job Description

It s been our formula for several decades and it keeps working. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Superintendent to join our team.
The successful candidate will have 10
years of related work experience in EXCAVATION and HEAVYCIVIL/HIGHWAY (including bridges). Additionally, the successful candidate will have proven project management experience on similar or related project types is required. Must have a proven ability to perform in a management capacity. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations is required.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be intimately familiar will all aspects of civil construction, which includes but is not limited to:
Heavy Civil/Highway and Bridge work experience required
Pipe excavation and installation
Grade work
Asphalt and concrete paving
Capable of managing multiple crews on multiple projects of varying size
Coordinate with customer representatives ranging from owners to GC site superintendents to UDOT Project Engineers
In depth understanding of civil construction safety and possess a passion for completing projects not only on time and under budget but also safely
Proven experience in safety inspections and implementation of OSHA and company standards
Understand and practice trench safety, confined spaces, fall protection among other safety issues
Duties may include, but not be limited to the following:
Field project management and coordination of multiple projects which includes;
o Crew and equipment allocation,
o Effective use of the crews and equipment,
o Follow up that the crew foreman are performing to the best possible efficiency and ensuring that all facets are in place to complete the contracted scope within schedule and within budgeted costs.
This will require close coordination with the project Estimator / PM and with the other Superintendents in company.
Duties will also include the hiring and terminating of employees, employee discipline and coaching
Qualifications
This candidate will possess:

Years of Construction Manager Experience
Demonstrated strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized
Ability to read and comprehend job cost reports and will understand how to translate the reports into project management skills
Ability to read estimates and understand cost allocation as well as crew make up and crew productiveness
Understand how to track crew s daily progress
Understand the process of change orders
Must be able to show proof of age over 18, identity and right to work in the US
Must be able to pass drug screen

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
