Sr. Scientist-Discovery & Applied Botanical Research
Job Description
Provides scientific leadership to the company in his/her discipline on technology and product innovation at the individual contribution level; carries out the strategies set forth by senior management by developing experimental plans, conducting experiments on the bench, performing troubleshooting, analysis and interpretation of results, and writing of reports; performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE: In-depth understanding of nutritional biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology and molecular genetics. Knowledge of new applicable technology. High level of scientific writing and editing proficiency. Knowledge of new applicable technology. Excellent knowledge of laboratory safety and ability to teach others.
SKILLS: Highest level hands-on skill with molecular biology/biochemistry laboratory equipment. Technical project management experience. Strong organizational and supervisory skills. Good verbal and written communication skills.
ABILITY: Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively against challenging deadlines. Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to design, conduct at bench level, and interpret experimental data independently.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Ph.D. in Nutritional biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology and 10
years independent R&D experience.
