Nutritional Research Scientist
Job Description
Applicants are expected to be capable of reading and evaluating relevant literature, which includes comprehension of the nutritional background and assessment of the methodology and results. The work includes evaluating publications, integrating data, and organizing the results in an easily understandable format. Must be passionate about applying the latest scientific advances to nutritional applications.
This position will provide scientific support for product innovation of new products, substantiation of claims, product labeling statements and ensure formulas are compliant with registration requirements for international markets. The successful applicant should be creative, resourceful and innovative with a sense of urgency.
Qualifications
Knowledge: MS Office applications - primarily Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Skills: Excellent communication skills through written and oral presentations which provide clear and concise explanations of underlying nutritional science principles and issues.
Ability: to interact with cross functional teams effectively and work under pressure while maintaining accountability. Ability to run appropriate project plans and execute them with limited supervision, communicating findings based on the direction. Ability to understand and discuss risks with manager. Takes responsibility for job assignments and for errors.
Education/
Experience:
Required: BS with over 5 years of experience or MS in Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, or Food Science.
Desired: Ph.D. in Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, or Food Science and a recognized nutrition credential (RD, CNS, etc). Working knowledge of nutrition, nutrigenomics, vitamins, minerals, ingredients, and botanicals.
